John Louis De Ponce III, 78, of Volcano died July 1, 2013, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Sept. 26, 1934, in Santa Barbara, Calif., he was a freelance artist.
Memorial services and celebration of his life will be at a later date.
He has no known survivors.
